The new Total Recall ought to be a better movie than the 1990 original it's trying to improve upon. For one, it has a bigger budget to work with, and special effects have improved by leaps and bounds since the 90s. It also has the hindsight of what worked in the original and what didn't. And no one can dispute the fact that Colin Farrell is a better actor than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
